Legend Diving Lembongan  – The Experience of a Lifetime

I have now been a part of the Legend Diving Family for just about five months. I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on my time at Legend Diving and to document the experience I’ve had here.

Coming to Nusa Lembongan is an incredible adventure to begin with. Once you get tired of the hustle and bustle that comes with time in Bali, heading to the island paradise of Nusa Lembongan is much needed. The welcoming waters and white sand beaches of Lembongan are a dream come true for all travellers.

For those who have spent time on the island, you pick up on the three typical types of people in Lembongan. Yogis, surfers, and of course, divers. If you are a diver and decide to come to Legend Diving for your diving experience – welcome. You’re about to have the island experience of a lifetime.

Welcome to paradise

Come for the diving, stay for the perfect combination of friendship and island life

Just a heads up, the longer you stay better time you will have. But that’s no secret. Over my five months, I have seen people come by for weekend excursions and have a blast! This said, there is nothing better than having visitors for a long period of time and getting to know them well.

The beauty of this island is in its size. It is a small, sleepy little island. If you are looking for late night parties and crazy nightlife, I don’t think that this island is for you. If you are looking to spend your days on the dive boat, catching the sunset with a beer or two, and having dinner with friends is what you’re looking for – you’ve come to the right place.

Island Life with Lifelong Friends

The Legend Diving staff is filled with some of the nicest people in the world. They are looking forward to getting to know you and bringing you into the Legend Diving Family with open arms. Within a day or two of diving with Legend you can expect to be going out to dinner with the crew after another perfect day of diving.

I’ll admit that when I first came over to Lembongan I was a bit nervous to make friends and to meet the Legend Diving staff. By the end of my first day at the shop, the nerves were long gone and I was off to get dinner with my new friends.

Fast forward five months, the friendships have grown stronger and the group has gotten bigger.

A day in paradise

A typical day at Legend Diving starts depending on the tides. The staff and Divemasters rock up to the shop anywhere from 6:45 am to 8:45 am. This entirely depends on when management decides that it is safest for the boats to head out for the dives.

We come in and make sure that all the dive bags are prepared based on the customer’s needs. About an hour after arrival and setting up the dive boat, guests then arrive just in time for a morning cup of tea or coffee at the shop.

Nusa Lembongan Sunset

After the dive briefing going over where we will be diving that day and all the information needed to ensure that the dives go smoothly, it’s time for the walk down the dirt road to the boats. Once we are all loaded up on the boat, sit back and enjoy the quick commute to the dive sites. If there is one thing that can’t be explained through text on a screen, it’s the dives you will have around the Nusa Archipelago. All I can promise is that the dives here are nothing short of incredible.

Just after diving

Once you have finished your dives and have had lunch on the boat it is time to head back to the shop.  Get an afternoon snack, do some log books and check the dive board to see what is on the agenda for the afternoon. Depending on the time of year, afternoons can either be very busy, or nice and relaxing. Take it all in stride, enjoy the busy days when you have them, and for the afternoons you have off go see the beauty that this island has to offer. Go for a surf, sign up for a yoga class at Serenity Yoga. Maybe go for a bite to eat at Ginger and Jamu or Bali Eco Deli. It may be a small island, but there is plenty to do to keep you busy during your downtime.

Before you know it, it’s time to link up with the other Legend Divers for sunset. This is the best time to go over the highlights of the day. Talk about the dives, have a few laughs, and take in the beauty surrounding you. Take this opportunity to make a big decision – where are we going for dinner?

Enjoy dinner with your island friends and don’t be ashamed to admit that you’re a bit tired even though it’s only 8:30 pm. After dinner is over head back home and get some sleep. The good thing is you get to do it all over again tomorrow.

The memories made

I hope that throughout your time at Legend Diving and in Lembongan you get to experience some of the events we have come to love. Go have fun at a full or new moon party. Attend a fellow diver’s snorkel test party once they complete their Divemaster course. Welcome new divers and celebrate with them as they get their certifications. If you’re lucky, have a blast celebrating with the new instructors at and IDC party. There really are so many fun things to do with the people around you. Take it all in and enjoy the little things.

Thank you Legend Diving!

The friendships

The friendships you will make in Lembongan are truly unique. We all have one thing in common; the courage to live the life that others dream of. Lembongan is composed of people from all over the world. You will have life long connections with people that range far and wide. Be sure to keep those connections close, because there is no doubt in my mind that each person I have met during my time in Lembongan is destined to do great things.

Thank you Legend Diving

Legend Diving welcomed me in with open arms and I will forever be grateful for that. The friendships I made in Lembongan are due to the opportunity that Legend gave me. I know that I will always have a spot with Legend Diving in this tropical paradise.
